Before Reunions
Regional Events
We don't have to wait until May 2010 to reunite! We're hoping to have regional get-togethers (e.g., happy hours) throughout the year, especially in conjunction with group community-service events. Hosting an event is easy -- and is a great way to have a party while helping the Class at the same time. Just pick a time and place. E-mail our Class VP, Aparna Kesarwala, at <kesarwla AT alumni.princeton.edu> to send notice out to the Class. Keep receipts and get reimbursed -- that's it! The Class can often provide a small subsidy for the event (e.g., one drink per classmate / guest). You can see an archived list of regional-event announcements here.
Millennial Lecture Series and PreceptsOur class chartered the Millennial Lecture Series to discuss "the great issues of our times."
This year, the Millennial Lecture, entitled "Lessons from the Economic Crisis," will be given by Eliot Spitzer '81 on Saturday of Reunions at 10:30am in McDonnell A02. Class of 2000 gets priority seating.
In addition to the lecture, the MLS committee has organized precepts -- small discussions with Princeton professors -- on Friday of Reunions. More information is available here.
Alumni-Faculty Forums
Every year at Reunions, the major reunion classes and graduate alumni host a series of Alumni-Faculty Forums (AFFs). These panel discussions are made up of returning alums and are moderated by a member of the University faculty or administration with particular expertise in the subject of the panel. They cover a wide range of timely (and timeless) topics. Look for these on the complete events schedule. The following alumni faculty forum panels include members of the Great Class of 2000:
-
Journalism in the Age of New Media (panelists include Ian Shapira '00, Enterprise Reporter, The Washington Post)
-
Themes for the Congressional Elections (panelists include Ben Waterhouse '00, Assistant Professor of History, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill)
-
What is the Next Chapter in the Health Care Debate? (panelists include Ben Sommers '00, Clinical Fellow, Harvard Medical School / Brigham & Women's Hospital)
-
Has the Sports Industry Lost Its Way... and Its Fan Base? A Decade of Controversy and Scandal (panelists include Jeff Roemer '00, Management, Toronto Blue Jays)
- New Directions in Social Media (panelists include Abe Crystal '00, Co-founder, MoreBetterLabs)
- The Impact of Popular Culture on Young Children (panelists include David Hill '00, Executive Director of Teacher Effectiveness, Memphis City Schools)

Beyond Reunions
The Class maintains a webpage to hold announcements given by classmates about activities they are involved in that they would like to publicize. If possible, we send out e-mail announcements to the region in which these activities occur, but you can also view the webpage archive of these announcements.
These activities are not officially sponsored Class events -- it is our policy not to promote commercial efforts of any classmate as an organized class activity.
If you'd like to have something posted here, please send an e-mail to the Class Vice President, Aparna Kesarwala, at <kesarwla AT alumni.princeton.edu>.
